Welcome to Butterflies!
Welcome to the Butterflies (Foundation stage two) home page! Where learning is most definitely an adventure!
Mrs Woodcock and Mrs Sanford are always waiting with big smiles to welcome everyone into our classroom.
Our learning journey for this term is 'What makes a super Hero super and all about me". Its an adventure staring ' Eliot the midnight super hero' and some more familiar faces on the way. Already we are creating story maps, forming sentences and innovating our own learning!
We are continuing with our weekly reading sessions and are daily enjoying using our time to develop our knowledge of phonics. The children are really enjoying this time to develop their reading skills. If possible could you please ensure that the children have their reading records within school so that we are able to support their learning at home. This also gives us the opportunity to provide you with feedback about their progression in reading and opportunities to continue their learning at home. Reading is an important element of learning In school and we aim to start as we mean to grow. We suggest that reading should be undertaken at home at least 4 times a week in order to support the children's reading development.
Our PE days are on a Monday and a Tuesday morning. so please ensure that your children have their PE kits ready for their learning on these days.
The children are continuing to work on their maths passports and are working hard to progress onto their next continent. If you would like any more information about their maths passport targets and how you can support them at home then please come and see me or alternatively see the link that is attached at the bottom of the class page. Additionally, please see the links at the bottom of the page for useful links and online games to help support your child's learning.
If you have any questions about your child's learning then please do not be hesitate to ask. We have an open door policy and will always be free to answer any questions.
