Please use the links below to download free software (at the time of going live) that the children use in school. We recommend that you have an up to date anti virus installed before downloading anything from the Internet in order to keep your PC safe. Most of the downloads require personal information and/ or an email address and where ever possible we suggest using the details of an adult in your house. A fantastic free piece of software for use at Key Stage 2 and upwards. Based on a CBBC television programme children design and make their own Zook- a strange creature.

Pivot

A simple, easy to use, stick figure animator based on the idea of a flipbook. This programme is a great way of introducing children to frame- by- frame animation.

MonkeyJam

MonkeyJam is a digital pencil test program. It is designed to let you capture images from a webcam, camcorder, or scanner and assemble them as separate frames of an animation. You can also import images and sound files already on your computer.

Windows Movie Maker

Moviemaker is a remarkably easy to use piece of software for creating, editing and sharing movies. It can be used to create stop motion animation using still images or edit and combine video clips.

Wordle

Generates "word clouds" from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and colour schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery to share with your friends.

GIMP

GIMP is an acronym for GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is a freely distributed program for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring.

It has many capabilities. It can be used as a simple paint program, an expert quality photo retouching program, an online batch processing system, a mass production image renderer, an image format converter, etc.
