Class 4 - Mrs Cawkwell and Mrs Hirst

Welcome to Class 4's homepage, where you'll find out all the latest about Class 4's learning adventure.

Our Learning Support Assistant is Miss Moore.

Mrs Cawkwell teaches us on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and Mrs Hirst on a Thursday and Friday

Times tables are incredibly important and I would encourage you to help your child with these.  We are currently working on the 6, 7 and 9 times tables but the children are expected to know their tables up to 12 x 12 by the end of Year 4! Please follow the link to Times Tables Rock Stars and keep your eyes peeled for inter-class Battle of the Bands competitions.
Just a reminder that our PE days are Mondays and Fridays, so can you please make sure that all children have appropriate PE kit in school on these days.  It would be useful if PE kit was left in school all week in case we have to change our PE lessons for any reason.  We are very lucky at the minute to have Mr Smith leading one of our PE sessions and sharing his expertise.  We aim to get outside for PE where possible so if children could make sure they have appropriate kit and footwear.  Also, can we please remind you to make sure that children have suitable indoor slippers or pumps to keep our school looking nice.
Spelling investigations will be given out every two weeks. Please can you make sure you practice spellings, accompanied by the appropriate rules, with your children throughout the week.  They should also practice writing the spellings in a sentence so that they are able to apply and understand the meaning.  If possible, please could you listen to your children reading for about 10 minutes each evening and write this in your child’s reading diary and return to school each day to be checked as this contributes to the reading challenge beginning this September.

Also, keep checking Twitter to see what we've been up to on a daily basis!

If you have any questions about how you can support your child’s learning in Class 4 please come in and ask. We'll all do our best to accommodate.

Many thanks,

Mrs Cawkwell and Mrs Hirst.  surprise
