Here are some useful websites that will support you with learning at home. Please do not feel any pressure to complete a certain number of tasks each day or to stick to a rigid learning routine. Remember, at school your children learn through a mixture of adult led and child initiated activities so while they spend some of their day sitting with a grown up to focus on a specific area of the curriculum, they also have lots of opportunities to learn through their play in our provision.
For our FS children playing is learning!

Welcome to FS2!
Here you will find everything you need to know about our learning in FS2.
Mrs Habershon and Mrs Sanford are your EYFS Key People. They are your first point of call if you have any questions about being a Butterfly!

This term our Learning Journey is
"On the Move!"
We will be learning about vehicles, how they have changed over time and their effect on our planet in different ways through all seven areas of the curriculum! Every Monday the weekly planning is posted on the Parents’ Notice Board by the red doors. If you have any further queries about the curriculum, please speak to a member of staff.
Home Learning in FS2
As part of our Letters and Sounds curriculum your child will be bringing home a ‘Sound Book’ to help them to practise naming and sounding letters at home.
Please help your child to practise making the pure letter sound and see if they can show you the action that helps them to remember it!
Can you think of three things that start with todays’ sound?
Can you draw three things that start* with today’s sound?
Can you practise writing today’s sound?
Can you write any words that start* with today’s sound?
* Some sounds do not appear at the start of words. Use the picture clues as a model to support your child to identify these sounds in different words.
Reading at home is an important part to ensuring your child becomes a confident reader. As such we want all the Butterflies to become Reading Champions by reading at home every day!
Read with your child each night and record this in their reading record book. For every 15 home reads your child completes they will be awarded with a Reading Badge in the their book. Can you collect them all?
Maths Rockstars Targets:
We will be sending home a Maths Rockstars booklet to support your child with their learning in Mathematics. The targets in the booklet are designed to develop the children’s mental maths skills which you can help them with at home. Your child will need to bring their Maths Rockstars booklet to school every day as we will be working with the children on their targets in the classroom. Please do not complete the ‘Date Achieved’ boxes on the children’s booklets as this will be filled in by school staff.
If you have any questions about the Maths Rockstars booklets, or the curriculum in general, please speak to a member of the FS Team.
Look out for your child's Spelling Shed user name and password in their Reading Record Book and let them get practising!
Holiday Homework Menu:
At the end of each term we will be sending home a Homework Menu for the children to complete during the school holidays. You and your child can choose to complete one, two or all of the tasks on the Homework Menu and bring them into school on the first day of term to show us what they have been up to!
PE in FS2
Our PE day is Tuesday - please ensure your child has their PE kit in school on a Monday and is taken home every Friday in case it is needed on a different day.
Please also ensure that long hair is tied back and earrings are removed on PE day.
