Y5 - Miss Bennett (Centipedes)

Welcome to Class 5's homepage, where you'll find all the latest updates and news about Class 5's learning adventure.

Welcome to the Class 5 homepage. Here you will find all the information you need to know about Class 5.

The class have had a fantastic start to Year 5 and Miss Bennett is so pleased with the progress the children have made. Myself and Mrs Beeley can't wait to see what the new term has in store for Class 5!

Welcome to the final term of Year 5!

Our learning journey for the Summer Term is all about rivers and sustainability. This term, we will be learning about the actions of a river and how we can live more sustainably! In Maths, we are following the Whiterose Maths scheme and have begun learning all about decimals and percentages. As Scientists, Class 5 will be researching Earth and Space.

Myself and Mrs Beeley are looking forward to our last term together with Class 5, and we are looking forward to making memories with children with all the exciting events that will be taking place soon!

Please read the attached Long Term Plan and knowledge organiser for this term's exciting learning journey. In Maths, we are following the Whiterose Maths Scheme of Learning, and are currently learning about multiplication and division. Click on the following link to find out more:

Our PE days are Tuesday and Thursday. One of our PE lessons will be outside, so please make sure children have appropriate kit and footwear.

How Can I Support My Child At Home?
SpellingShed, MathsShed and Times Tables RockStars are very important and should be practised daily. All children have their own log ins and can access exciting new challenges each week.

Our Reading Challenge is up and running and our theme is Space. Reading is exceptionally important and the minimum expectation is that each child reads to their grown-up at least three times per week. Please sign and date when your child has read so we can monitor how much they are reading and also ensure they are progressing in the challenge.

If you have any questions about how you can support your child’s learning in Class 5 please come in and ask. We'll all do our best to accommodate.

Many thanks,

Miss Bennett   smiley
