Welcome to Anston Hillcrest School

On behalf of the children, staff and governors of Anston Hillcrest Primary School I am delighted to welcome you to our website and thank you for taking the time to visit us.

I am very proud to be Headteacher of such a lovely, warm and welcoming school in the heart of the community. Here at Anston Hillcrest children are at the heart of all we do; we are passionate about children achieving their own potential based on their strengths and in developing a true love of learning and desire to succeed within a supportive environment. We promote 5 key values: Respect, Kindness, Resilience, Aspiration and Teamwork and these underpin all we do.

We understand the importance a primary school plays in the life of a child and are always seeking to cultivate positive experiences and memories for both children and families to cherish in their future years. Our staff strive to make sure everyone at our school feels valued and part of our school community and we aim to help every child develop their self-confidence, build a positive approach to life and understand more about the world around them.

Our school motto is ‘Make a Difference’ and that’s certainly what we are aiming for all members of our school community to achieve throughout their time at our school. As you’ll see on our website and if you follow us on social media there is always much to do, see and learn here in our friendly school. I encourage you to visit us to experience the school, to meet the staff and, most importantly, our students. You will be warmly welcomed.

We are a friendly, happy and successful school, set in extensive grounds in the scenic village of South Anston. We cater for children aged 3 - 11 and currently have 251 children including those who attend part-time.  Our Foundation Unit provides an important stepping stone between nursery education and full-time school, for children aged between 3 and 5. The school also has a Speech and Language Unit for pupils in Key Stage 1 and 2, which caters for pupils across Rotherham borough who have specific needs.

We have a busy and enthusiastic learning environment where there is always much to do, see and learn. We strive to make sure everyone at our school feels valued and part of our school community. Developing the whole child is important to us and that aim is reflected in all we do. We are proud of the achievements of our children and we aim to help every child develop self-confidence and a positive approach to life whilst achieving their own individual potential.

We aim to 'Make a Difference' to our pupils and instill in them, a desire to 'Make a Difference' to others and leave a legacy for future generations to come. This is reflected in our newly developed vision.
