Welcome to Class 3

We are delighted to be teaching your children this year and lucky that Mrs Beeley has been able to follow the children into the new class.

On our class page we will be sharing information about what we’ll be learning, sharing our successes in the gallery of photos and ‘latest news’ section and offering tips on how you can help your child at home.  We will post our learning (WhISK sheets) and curriculum newsletters as we go so you know what we are learning all about, as well as emailing these out to you, so you can support your child at home.  Don't forget to follow us on X and look out for those texts home when we need to share something lovely your child has done!

Please ensure that your child's Learning Log is sent into school everyday, as they use them to help their learning in class.  I will be encouraging children to take responsibility for logging their reading; however, please continue to record your child's reading at home while they get used to it. The Learning Log needs to be brought into school every day as your child will use the information sheets during their lessons.  Two reading books will be sent home, one to practise their reading at their level and a recommended read to be shared.  This book may be easier or harder and is to support development of their enjoyment of reading.  I love reading and want the children to develop a love of reading too, as children who read for enjoyment every day not only perform better, but also develop a broader vocabulary, increased general knowledge and a better understanding of other cultures.  Children are expected to read as least four times per week, practise their weekly spelling rules and times table facts. Don't forget they can use Spelling Shed to practise their spelling rules and mathsisfun.com and TTRockStars to learn their times tables.

As always, if there is ever anything you would like to discuss or if you have any concerns, please either catch me on the yard, send an email or give the office a call. I am always happy to have extra phone calls or meetings throughout the year so we can work together to support your wonderful children.
