Mr Brooks
Teacher

Welcome to Class Four’s Home Page.

A huge welcome back to everybody for the final term of Y4!

This term, our learning journey is called 'How did the Romans make a difference?', where we are learning about ancient Rome and modern day Italy.

The long term plan at the bottom of the page gives more detail on which areas of each subject we will be covering at each point this term.

Times Tables

Y4 includes the (pretty new to schools) Multiplication Tables Check!

Times tables are incredibly important and we would encourage you to help your child recall them.  We are going to work on the 6, 7, 8, 9, 11 and 12 times tables but the children are expected to know all their tables up to 12 x 12 by the end of Year 4 and will be tested nationally.

Please encourage them to keep up this learning. There are several websites, which allow children to practise these for free.

Currently, they need to get 25/25 to pass!

So, practise really does need to make perfect!

We have attached some documents below, which contain information about the Multiplication Tables Check.

Home Learning
SpellingShed, TTRockstars and MathsShed are still active and all children have their logins from Y3. If you need the log-ins again, they can be added to your child's reading record.

Reading Champions

If possible, please listen to your children read for about 15 minutes each evening and write this in your child’s reading record.  In order to achieve the badges and become a reading champion, reading record books need to be signed and returned to school each day (ideally) to be checked.

Children continue to have the opportunity to choose books from the 'Recommended Reads'.  These books can be enjoyed independently or shared with an adult.

PE days are scheduled to be Wednesday and Thursday (swimming) but please have your child's kit in school on all days as may change at short notice.

If you have any questions about how you can support your child’s learning in Class 4 please come in and ask one of the team.

Thank you for your continued support.
